World Harvest Community Center has been ministering and serving the community for over seventy-five (75) years. Holding Hands Ministries is an auxiliary and an extension of the Bay Ridge Christian Center. The Holding Hands Ministries helps the needy, poor, destitute and the homeless of our community supplying them with food, clothing and the Bread of Life, Jesus Christ our Savior.
The ministry also assists these people by referring them to services in our community such as but not limited to: Church, food pantry/soup kitchens, education and legal services. We direct them to homeless shelters, hospitals and /or facilities for the treatment of alcoholism and drug dependence, and detoxification programs, where they can find help to begin a new life free from alcohol and drugs.
The mission the Lord has put in our hearts is to go out to the streets and seek for those in need and homeless, and to feed them physically and spiritually bringing them hope through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We assist them in finding help when they are in lack of the basic necessities to live a normal life. Our dream is that God will use this ministry to bring His Goodness & Mercy to many people in need and to lead them to dwell in the House of the Lord forever as they see the hand of the Lord working in their lives (Psalm 23:6).
Our goal and focus is to give these people hope with their physical needs as well as their spiritual needs. We speak the Word of God into their lives and present them to Jesus with love and compassion. As we continue to humbly follow Jesus, He will empower us with His love and the ability to serve the people as He taught and modeled to his disciples. Together we are fulfilling Matthew 25:35-36.
